We only buy organic produce. Why? Because the benefits are worth the higher price

  • Organic farming prohibits the use of synthetic pesticides, which harm beneficial insects, pollute our waterways, and pose health risks to farmworkers.
  • Organic farming practices, such as crop rotation and cover cropping, promote healthier soil, improve water retention, and reduce erosion.
  • Organic farms tend to support a wider range of plant and animal life, contributing to a more balanced ecosystem.
  • Organic farming minimizes the use of synthetic fertilizers, which can contribute to water pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Organic produce generally has lower levels of pesticide residues compared to conventionally grown produce.
  • Some studies have shown slightly higher levels of antioxidants in organic produce, which can help protect against cell damage.
  • Organic livestock are not given routine antibiotics, which can help reduce the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
  • Organic livestock are not given synthetic growth hormones, which have been linked to some health concerns.
  • Organic farming standards often prioritize the well-being of animals, allowing them more space and access to the outdoors.
  • Buying organic can support smaller, local farms and contribute to a more sustainable food system.
  • Organic food standards restrict the use of certain additives and processing aids commonly found in conventional food.
